Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson was born on 13th May 1986 in Barnes, London. He has played piano since the age of three and classical guitar from the age of five, switching to acoustic and blues guitar in his teens. A child model, he was a regular model for teen magazines such as Bliss, as well as fashion modelling in his later teens. Around this age he began working in amateur theatre and secured an agent where he got his first film work at 17 for Vanity Fair starring Reece Witherspoon. Unfortunately his scenes were cut from movie, though they can be found in the DVD release. Pattinson then got a role in made for TV movie Rings of the Nibelungs and followed that with the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For the following three years he did several British TV and independent films before filming his break-out role as Edward Cullen in the now billion dollar franchise, The Twilight Saga. Pattinsons first American movie outside of the franchise was Remember Me which was released in 2010. He has Bel Ami and Water for Elephants scheduled for release in 2011.
Pattinson was named as one of the most influential actors of 2010 in Times magazine as well as one of the most beautiful in People magazine. He won Best Performance at The National Movie Awards 2010 for his role as Edward Cullen. Pattinson has been filming consistently the past two years and is currently of no fixed abode having stayed at hotels in whatever location he is working, namely Vancouver, London, LA and New York. Pattinson is very private about his personal life, refusing to discuss relationships, preferring to deflect such questions with humour. He does however have the same group of friends he has had since a teenager. They are all actors/musicians, namely actor Tom Sturridge (The Boat That Rocked) and musicians Sam Bradley (composer of Never Think co-written and performed by Pattinson), and Bobby Long and Marcus Foster (composers of Let Me Sign, performed by Pattinson) both songs appeared on the Twilight soundtrack.
