Paul McGillion

Paul McGillion was born in Paisley, Scotland but emigrated with his family to Canada as a child. He's worked extensively in film, TV and theatre and is best known for the role of 'Dr.Carson Beckett', the loveable Scottish physician on ‘Stargate: Atlantis. Paul recently appeared in the blockbuster ‘Star Trek’, directed by JJ Abrams and guest-starred in recent episodes of '24', SyFy's 'V' and 'Sanctary'. And is due to film the feature 'A70', starring alongside Billy Boyd.

Other recent film credits include 'The Traveler' with Val Kilmer, 'Witchslayer' with Shannen Doherty and A Dog's Breakfast’ with Atlantis co-star David Hewlett. As well as the Lifetime movie 'Mom, Dad and Her' alongside ‘The Office' s Melora Hardin, ‘The Deal’ with Christian Slater and Selma Blair. ‘Jack’ with Ron Silver, Stockard Channing and Anton Yelchin. And indepdendent feature, the award winning ‘See Grace Fly’ for which Paul was nominated for a Leo Award (Canada), for his "heart wrenching performance" as 'Dominic McKinley'.

Television credits include lead and guest starring roles in the season 7 finale of '24', ‘Da Vinci's Inquest’, ‘Cold Squad’, ‘Smallville’, ‘Stargate: SG1’, ‘The Twilight Zone’ and ‘The X-Files’.

Theatre credits include leading roles in productions such as the recent sell-out run of ‘Reservations for Four’ and previously ‘The Foreigners’, ‘Piano’, ‘Savage in Limbo’, ‘El Salvador’ and the Jessie nominated "Reservations for Two" which McGillion also produced and directed to rave reviews.
