Pawel PawlikowskiPawel Pawlikowski was born in 1957 and is a Polish-born, Oxford-based, BAFTA Award-winning filmmaker and academic. In the 1980s and 90s he was best known as a documentary film maker, his transition to fiction taking place as late as 1998 with the short film Twockers. His films have won numerous awards including the Grierson award for the Best British Documentary, the Michael Powell Award for the Best New British Feature Film and BAFTAs.From 2004 to 2007 Pawlikowski was a Creative Arts Fellow at Oxford Brookes University following a major grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Board.
