Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester was born on April 9th 1986 in Marco Island , Florida under unusual circumstances , at the time of Leighton's birth her mother was serving prison time.
Leighton started out acting in local productions in Marco Island but moved to New York with her mother at the age of 10 to advance her career. While there she worked with Sofia Coppola on a photo shoot and appeared in an episode of " Law & Order " .
Since moving to Los Angeles , Leighton has done a great deal of TV work having appeared in ; " 24 " , " Veronica Mars " , " Entourage " , " Numb3rs " , " CSI : Miami " , " House M.D. " and " Shark " . Leighton had roles in smaller movies such as " Hangman's Curse " and " Drive-Thru " before accepting the role of High School Queen Bee Blair Waldorf in " Gossip Girl " based upon the best-selling book series by Cecily von Ziegesar, which has already garnered her a Teen Choice Award.
Leighton will soon appear in the thriller " The Roommate " alongside Alyson Michalka and Cam Gigandet.
At the same time she is also currently working on a debut album to be released some time in 2009.
Leighton Meester therefore has a promising career ahead of her as she builds upon her current success.
