Gemma Ward was born 3 November 1987 in Perth, Australia.

MODELLING LIFE
This ethereal beauty was 'discovered' by modelling scouts aged 16 and quickly rose to the status of supermodel, walking the catwalk and featuring in advertisements for all the worlds top fashion houses. She has appeared on the cover of Vogue 30 times. In July 2007 Ward was named as the 10th top earning super model in the world.

ACTING LIFE
Ward had a leading role in the Australian film Black Balloon which showed at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2008. The film won an award for being the best feature-length film and Ward proved that her acting skills superceded that of most models-turned-actresses. She has talked of the inspiration fellow Australian actress Toni Collete provided her with. Ward also starred opposite Liv Tyler as a masked killer in the film 'The Strangers' in 2008.

PERSONAL LIFE
Ward has never been chased by the paparazzi in the way other super models have so her private life has been lived much in the shadows. She was, however, thought to have been in a relationship with fellow Australian actor Heath Ledger shortly before his death in January 2008.
