Alexander Skarsgard
Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård is a swedish actor. He was born August 25, 1976 in stockholm. He is son to the swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard and has 6 siblings.

His best known role is as Eric Northman, a 1000 year old viking vampire sheriff in the HBO/FX vampire series True Blood but has been in a wide range of other films for example Zoolander, Generation Kill and appeared in Lady Gaga's Paparazzi video.

Alex hadn't always wanted to be an actor and was uncomfortable when he started getting noticed when he was a child actor so at 19 joined the Swedish military for 18 months. Then he came to the UK and studied at Leeds Metropolitan university but after seven years away from acting, he started to consider it again and in 1997 he enrolled in a theater course at Marymount Manhattan College and moved to New York City. He returned to Stockholm after six months, but the time he spent studying theater showed him that he wanted to act.

He has 2 films coming out in 2011, Straw Dogs and melancholia and will be starring alongside Rihanna in 2012 for 137569-Battleship.html">Battleship and of coarse you can keep seeing him in true blood.
