Prof. Brian CoxProfessor Brian Cox was born in 1968 in Oldham Lancashire. Whilst attending Manchester University Brian was the keyboardist for the 90's band D Ream and had the hit 'Things can only get Better' used by the Labour Party for the 1997 election. The musical side to Brian was short lived and Brian finished his degree and went on to become a Research Fellow based in the particle physics department in Manchester University. He also works on the ATLAS experiment at CERN and was the scientific consultant for the Alex Garland film Sunshine.Nick named the rock and roll scientist Professor Brian Cox is a big believer in bringing science to the masses and has appeared on many TV and Radio shows to talk about the wonders of Science and physics.
