Ian Holm

Ian Holm
Born in 1931, Ian Holm started his acting career on the stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company before moving into TV and Film.

Ian's acting skills came to prominence in 1979 when he starred as Ash in sci fi thriller / horror "Alien" alongside Sigourney Weaver.

He was Oscar nominated for his supporting role as coach in Chariots Of Fire.

Ian will probably be remembered most for playing Bilboa Baggins in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

in other roles he has starred as Father Vito Cornelius in The Fifth Element, Jack the Ripper in "From Hell" alongside Johnny Depp. He also starred in other filems such as Time Bandits, Greystoke - The Legend Of Tarzan, Lord Of The Apes and Terry Gilliam's Brazil. Also he has lent his voice to many animated films including Animal Farm, Miracle Maker and more recently Ratatouille
