Philip Michael ThomasPhilip Michael Thomas, most famous for his role as Detective Ricardo Tubbs on 1980s American television series "Miami Vice", was born in 1949 in Ohio. Before "Miami Vice", Thomas was seen in Coonskin and Sparkle (1976 film, alongside Irene Cara). His big break came when he was chosen to read for the part of Ricardo Tubbs with Don Johnson, who would later play the role of Sonny Crockett, Tubbs' policing partner. After playing the character of Tubbs for five years, Thomas moved onto performing in many made-for-television movies, and offering his voice in both telephone psychic commercials and in the video game GTA Vice City, based on the series "Miami Vice". Thomas is also an accomplished singer, releasing "Living The Book of My Life" in 1985 at the height of the "MiamI Vice" fame (Johnson would do a similar feat, releasing his album "Heartbeat", which performed better.) After 1997, Thomas faded into the background, and now directs and produces plays for the stage in his home, Miami. Philip Michael Thomas - filmography
