Embeth Davidtz
Embeth Jean Davidtz was born on the 11th August 1965 in Lafayette in Indiana.
She played "Juliet" in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet, at the Maynardville Open-Air Theatre in Cape Town, performing in both English and Afrikaans.
She also starred in other local plays, including Stille Nag (Silent Night) and A Chain of Voices, both for which she was nominated for the South African equivalent of the Tony Award.
Other roles include Deadly Matrimony, Shattered Promises playing the part of Dianne Masters with Brian Dennehy, Treat Williams and Susan Ruttan, Till Death Us Do Part as Katherine Palliko, Sweet Murder as Laurie Shannon and The Garden of Redemption as Adriana .
Embeth also appeared in the horror film called Mutator as Jennifer, A Private Life as older Karen, the daughter of an interracial couple and in Nag van die 19de (Night of the 19th).
Other roles include Matilda as Miss Jennifer Honey with Mara Wilson, Rhea Perlman, Pam Ferris and Danny De Vito, Murder In The First as Mary McCasslin with Christian Slater, Kevin Bacon and Gary Oldman and in Feast Of July as Bella Ford opposite Ben Chaplin and Tom Bell.
Another role was in Schindler's List as Helen Hirsch, a young Jewish woman who is taken by Göth to work as a maid in his home, who is soon lusted after by him alongside Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Caroline Goodall.
She has also starred in Army of Darkness also known as Army of Darkness - The Evil Dead 3 - Embeth played the part of Sheila with Bruce Campbell and Marcus Gilbert and in Mansfield Park as Mary Crawford with Jonny Lee Miller and Alessandro Nivola.
Embeth starred in Simon Magus also known as Simon le Magicien in the part of Leah with Stuart Townsend and Rutger Hauer, The Gingerbread Man as Mallory Doss alongside Kenneth Branagh and Robert Downey Jr, Fallen as Gretta Milano opposite Denzel Washington, John Goodman and Donald Sutherland and in Last Rites as Dr. Lauren Riggs with Randy Quaid.
She has also had roles in Thirteen Ghosts as Kalina Oretzia opposite F. Murray Abraham and Shannon Elizabeth and in The Hole also known as After The Hole as Dr. Philippa Horwood alongside Thora Birch and Daniel Brocklebank.
Other roles were in Bridget Jones's Diary as Natasha with Colin Firth, Hugh Grant and Renee Zellweger and in Bicentennial Man as Amanda's Granddaughter Portia with Robin Williams and Sam Neill.
Another role was in Fracture as Jennifer Crawford opposite Anthony Hopkins, David Strathairn and Ryan Gosling and in Junebug as newlywed Madeleine alongside Amy Adams and Alessandro Nivola.
Embeth has also starred in Winged Creatures as Lydia Jasperson with Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeanne Tripplehorn.
She has appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen portraying the mother of Megan Fox and in Three Backyards as the actress with Kathryn Erbe.
Embeth has also been in "In Treatment" as Amy opposite Gabriel Byrne and in Grey's Anatomy - Season 3 as Nancy Shepherd in the episode called Let the Angels Commit alongside Patrick Dempsey, Isaiah Washington, Sandra Oh, James Pickens, Justin Chambers, Ellen Pompeo, T.R. Knight, Kate Walsh, Chandra Wilson, Eric Dane and Sara Ramirez.
Other roles include The Emperor's Club as Elizabeth with Kevin Kline and Emile Hirsch and in Shackleton as Rosalind Chetwynd alongside Kenneth Branagh, Lorcan Cranitch and Paul McGann.
Another role was in xXx: State of the Union also known as XXX 2 - The Next Level with Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson and Willem Dafoe and also in Scrubs - Season 3 as Maddie in the episode called My Tormented Mentor with Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison.
She also starred in Citizen Baines playing the daughter of a defeated United States Senate incumbent - Ellen Baines Croland with Jacinda Barrett and James Cromwell and was also seen in the short film called Oh, What A Day, opposite Viggo Mortensen.
