Martin Kemp
Martin John Kemp was born on the 10th October 1961 in Islington in London. He has an older brother Gary Kemp.
Early tv roles for Martin included Jackanory, The Tomorrow People, Scribble, Katherine Mansfield, Mind Where You Are Going, The Edwardians, Oranges and Lemons, Rumpole Of The Bailey and Dixon of Dock Green.
Another role was in The Glittering Prizes in the episode called A Country Life as Graham Black alongside Nigel Havers and Tom Conti and also appeared with his brother Gary Kemp, Susan Fleetwood and Billie Whitelaw in The Krays as Reggie Kray.
Martin along with brother Gary Kemp, Tony Hadley, John Keeble and Steve Norman formed the band - Spandau Ballet. The band took its name from Spandau Prison in Germany, where many executions by hanging were carried out before and during World War II. While dangling at the end of the rope, many victims would twitch and jump, which came to be called the "Spandau Ballet".
Martin has also appeared in Murder Between Friends as Bill Fontanille alongside Timothy Busfield, Stephen Lang and Emily Blout, Fleshtone as Matthew Greco opposite Lise Cutter and Tim Thomerson and in Highlander in the episode called Avenging Angel as Alfred Cahill with Adrian Paul and Stan Kirsch.
He has also starred in Aspen Extreme as Franz Hauser opposite Finola Hughes and Trevor Eve, Desire as Gordon Lewis alongside Gregg Daniel and in Waxwork 2: Lost In Time as Baron Von Frankenstein with Zach Galligan and Monika Schnarre.
Another role was in Embrace Of The Vampire as the Vampire alongside Jennifer Tilly, Alyssa Milano and Harrison Pruett, The Outer Limits in the episode called Blood Brothers as Michael Deighton with Kevin Conway, Cyber Bandits as Jack Morris alongside Adam Ant, Alexandra Paul and Grace Jones and in Boca as Reb opposite Martin Sheen and Rae Dawn Chong.
Martin has also lent his voice to the Music Quiz Game available on an interactive dvd.
He has also been in Sugar Town as Jonesy with John Taylor, Ally Sheedy and Rosanna Arquette, Monk Dawson as David Allenby alongside John Michie, Ben Taylor and Paula Hamilton, The Bill in the episode called The Bus Driver's Prayer as Tom Marsh and in Tales from the Crypt in the episode called Escape with John Kassir.
He has also appeared in Casino Casino as the Casino Manager, Family as Joey Cutler opposite Jamie Foreman, David Calder and Martin's son Roman Kemp, Daddy's Girl also known as Vanished as Chris Cooper alongside Denise Black and Paul Danan and more notably known for his role as Steve Owen in EastEnders with Tamzin Outhwaite as Mel.
Another role was in Where the Heart Is in the episode called Skin Deep as Ian Thorpe opposite Lesley Dunlop, Samantha Giles, Philip Middlemiss, Andrew Paul, Adam Paul Harvey, Katy Clayton, Danny Seward, Brian Capron and Georgia Moffett.
Other roles include starring in The Brides in the Bath as George Smith with Joanna David, richard Griffiths and Jennifer Calvert and in Serious and Organised as DC Jack Finn opposite Joe Duttine, Emily Bruni and Danny Sapani.
Martin has also appeared in Love Lies Bleeding as Mark Terry alongside Hugo Speer, Claire Goose and Reese Dinsdale and in Heartbeat in the episode called Bully Boys opposite Joe McFadden, Gwen Taylor, Peter Benson, Lisa Kay, Steven Blakeley, Tricia Penrose, William Simons, Derek Fowlds and Nikki Sanderson.
Other roles include Marple: Sleeping Murder as Jackie Afflick with Geraldine McEwan, Russ Abbot and Dawn French, Aidan McArdle, Paul McGann, Sophia Myles and Una Stubbs and in Can't Buy Me Love as Alan Harris alongside Michelle Collins.
Martin has starred in Back In Business as Will Spencer opposite Chris Barrie and Stefan Booth, The Rapture as Victor Walker with Danny Dyer, Billy Murray, Jaime Murray and Colin Salmon and The Best Years as Simon McKnight opposite Billy Boyd, Karl Howman, Sarah Jayne Dunn, Joss Ackland and Barry McGuigan.
Along with his son Roman, he also featured in one edition of a factual television series for Five called Dangerous Adventures For Boys in the episode called Battle of Britain.
Other roles include Supply And Demand 2 - Part 2 - The Golden Goose and Supply And Demand 2 - Part 3 - Blood Ties as Eddie McEwan with Miriam Margolyes and Larry Lamb.
Martin has also starred in Daydream Believer as Digby Olsen with Miranda Otto and Gia Carides.
Martin also introduces us to a series of grisly, gothic tales of crime and forensic detection in Crime Museum UK With Martin Kemp on the Discovery Channel.
Martin is the Patron of The Encephalitis Society.
