Warwick Davis

Warwick Davis
Warwick Ashley Davis is an English actor and is well known for playing Professor Filius Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter movies. Davis has a condition resulting in dwarfism, and stands at 3 ft 6 in (1.07 m) tall.

Warwick was born in Surrey in 1970 to an insurance broker and his wife. When Warwick was 11 years old his grandmother heard a radio advertisement calling for people who were 4 ft. tall or shorter to be in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Davis was originally only casted as an extra, to portray a Ewok. However the actor who was to portray the roll of wicket the Ewok (Kenny Baker) was taken ill and George Lucas picked Warwick to be the new Wicket after seeing how he carried himself as a Ewok.

After appearing in Star Wars Warwick had many other acting opportunities and perused a successful acting career. Davis went on to appear in movies such as Willow, Leprechaun, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

In addition to his acting career Warwick founded a talent agency (Willow Management, in 1995) along with fellow dwarf actor Peter Burroughs, that specialises in representing actors under five feet tall.
