Aldo Sambrell

A spanish actor best known for his roles in spaghetti westerns, usually playing mexican thugs. He appeared in the Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood ‘Dollars’ trilogy.

In ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ (1964) he was Manolo alongside actor Mario Brega in the savage ‘Rojo’ gang, became Cuchillo in ‘For a Few Dollars More’ and a member of Angel Eye’s gang in ‘The Good the Bad and the Ugly’.

His characters usually end up dead but as he said ‘They never killed me.. .I’m still here’. The role of scalphunting mexican bandit Duncan in ‘Navajo Joe’ where he was allowed free rein for his brooding style was his personal favourite.
