O.J. Simpson

Orenthal James "O. J." Simpson - born July 9, 1947 - nicknamed "The Juice", is a retired American football player turned actor and spokesman, infamously not convicted of murder in the most widely publicised trial in American history. The early years of Simpson’s life were simple, with a promising career in the NFL (National Football League) on the horizon. After graduating The University of Southern California on a football scholarship Simpson continued playing College football until in 1969. His big break came when AFL's Buffalo Bills signed him up as their Running Back - where he made history as the first player in U.S. history to pass the 2,000-yard mark. Simpson was later traded in by the Bills to play for the San Francisco 49ers for two seasons. Whilst under their wing Simpson gained 11,236 rushing yards, tallying him 2nd place on the NFL's all-time rushing list. After winning NFL player of the year in 1973 Simpson was also awarded a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

When Simpson retired in the early nineties he decided to cash in on his fame and fortune as a sports star by becoming an actor. He starred in television series Roots, and several films including; The Cassandra Crossing, Capricorn One, The Klansman, The Towering Inferno, Back to the Beach and The Naked Gun trilogy. However, when Simpson’s ex partner Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman were found dead outside her condominium, Simpson became embroiled in his own real life melodrama – the O.J. Simpson trial. Simpson is currently appealing claims of kidnap and robbery after over fifteen years in the spotlight as a convicted felon.
