Vinnie Jones
Vincent Peter "Vinnie" Jones - born 5 January, 1965 – is the son of a gamekeeper, who first took to the pitch in 1984 playing for Alliance Premier League side Wealdstone. A hot he Aded Jones was snapped up by Wimbledon two years later for a measly £10,000 – where he learned to channel his aggression through fancy footwork, as a member of the ‘Crazy Gang’ team. Leeds United, Sheffield United and Chelsea followed before Jones m Ade the decision to move back to Wimbledon in 1992. During his time on the pitch Jones gained an aggressive reputation, which ultimately led to a total of twelve red cards throughout his career. As his football career began to wind down Jones resisted throwing in the towel and briefly tried his hand at coaching football team QPR - but when he got overlooked for the position as manager, he gave football the heave ho in favour of a ticket to Tinseltown.
In what seemed like almost overnight, Jones went from the tackling players on the pitch to banging heads together on the big screen as a grunting, gruff cockney – synonymous with his personality on the pitch. In 1998 Guy Ritchie hired him to play the charmingly brutal Big Chris in Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, and then again in 2000 as Big Toothed Tony in Snatch. Several other roles in blockbuster films such as Gone in Sixty Seconds and Swordfish secured Jones’ place amongst the Hollywood elite. In 2001 Jones was reunited with his first love, playing inmate Danny Meehan in Mean Machine – a film about a group of inmates who engage in some not-so-friendly football. Since then he has continued with a career in acting but is mostly known for his ball bu Sting ways, both on and off the field.
