Eric CantonaFootball legend, popular icon, and now movie star - Eric Cantona has it all. Since retiring from the beautiful game in '97, Cantona has received great acclaim for his work in front of the lens.As the Nike advert has it - 1966 was a great year for British football... it was the year Cantona was born, 24th May to be exact. Parisian born Eric concentrated on his football career, gracing some of France's best clubs including Marsielle, before transferring to Leeds in the early nineties. His career with the team was short lived, before he found his natural home at Manchester United in '92 thanks to the efforts of Sir Alex Ferguson. He enjoyed a tempestuous but hugely successful career in Britain, ranging from Premier League highlights to drop-kick low moments. Notably he won four premier league titles in five years with the club and is often regarded as having played a major role in the revival of Manchester United gaining his status as an iconic hero for English football. At the turn of the Millennium Cantona decided to turn his hand to his other creative side - acting. And in 1992 he made his debut in Apporte-moi ton amour - that's a French Film in case you didn't get it! He has since appeared in Elizabeth alongside Cate Blanche and lesser known production - Jack Says. Most recently however, Eric has had made somewhat of a renaissance return with his self entitled film 'Looking For Eric'. It shares dark moments with humour, fused with the occasional look back to the glorious years he reigned in Manchester, ohh ahh Cantona indeed. Eric Cantona - what members say
