James Cosmo

James Cosmo
James Cosmo was born in 1948 in Clydebank, Scotland. He is known as a "Tough Guy" actor, and is the son of actor James Copeland.
James has been in the tv series: Futureshock: Comet Impact, The Borderers, The Persuaders!, The Stone Tape, Sutherland's Law, Warship, Survivors, The Standard, The Sweeney, The 10th Kingdom, The Professionals, The Nightmare Man, Minder, Fairly Secret Army, C.A.T.S. Eyes, Casualty, Between The Lines, Soldier Soldier, Rebus, Roughnecks, The Bill and Midsomer Murders.
His film roles include: Battle of Britain, Highlander, Braveheart, Trainspotting, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, The Reckoning, Troy, To End All Wars, The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Last Legion.
But perhaps his most known role, is that of playing Galder Weatherwax, in the Sky adaptation of Terry Pratchett's The Colour Of Magic. He stars alongside Sir David Jason as Rincewind the Wizard, Tim Curry as Trymon, David Bradley as Cohen, and Sean Astin as the naive Tourist called Two Flower.
He has worked with Heath Ledger in The Four Feathers (2002). Heath playing Harry Faversham, and James Cosmo playing Colonel Sutch.
James has worked with Mel GIbson in Braveheart. He played Scottish warrior Campbell, to Mel's hero William Wallace.
He has also starred alongside Robert Carlyle in two movies. First was Trainspotting (1996) as Mr Renton, Robert's character was Begbie. Second was To End All Wars (2001) as McLean, Robert Carlyle's character was named Campbell.
James Cosmo also played the head soldier of Troy called Glaucus, in the film called Troy alongside Brad Pitt.
James attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and also studied at the Bristol Old Vic drama school.
