Woody Allen, born Allan Stewart Konigsberg 1st December 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, USA, is an actor / writer / director best known for slice-of-life drama and comedy. His defining film is probably Annie Hall (1977).

A remarkable career starting in stand-up comedy and television chat show gag writing led to an astonishing number of films with an astonishing number of them very good to great and almost every single one containing great moments and lines. Woody Allen is one of the 20th-century's most iconic and brilliant filmmakers and is arguably the greatest screenwriter ever.
