Khandi Alexander

Khandi Alexander was born on the 4th September 1957 in New York City. She appeared on Broadway starring in Chicago, Bob Fosse’s Dancin and Dreamgirls.
She was also a choreographer for Whitney Houston’s world tour from 1988–1992.
Khandi played the part of Catherine Duke on NewsRadio alongside Phil Hartman and also as the recurring character of Jackie Robbins on ER.
She is well known for her starring role as a mother addicted to drugs named Fran in The Corner ( Corner, The - Complete Mini Series) alongside T.K. Carter and Sean Nelson.
She has made guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Sgt. Karen Smythe in the episode called Paranoia with Christopher Meloni, Mariska Hargitay, Richard Belzer, Stephanie March, Ice-T and Dann Florek and also in NYPD Blue as Sonya in the episode called What's Up, Chuck ? opposite Kim Delaney, T.K. Carter, Dennis Franz, Lola Glaudini and Michael B. Silver.
She also starred in La Femme Nikita with Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis, Fool Proof as Icarus alongside Eric Roberts, Perfect Strangers as Christie Kaplan opposite Rob Lowe and Anna Friel and in First Born as Dierdre along with Elisabeth Shue .
Khandi's biggest breakthrough came when she won the role of Alexx Woods, a medical examiner in the forensics drama CSI Miami - CSI Miami - Season 1 - Part 1, CSI Miami - Season 1 - Part 2, CSI Miami - Season 2 - Part 1, CSI Miami - Season 2 - Part 2, CSI Miami - Season 3 - Part 1, CSI Miami - Season 3 - Part 2, CSI Miami - Season 4 - Part 1, CSI Miami - Season 4 - Part 2, CSI Miami - Season 5 - Part 1, CSI Miami - Season 5 - Part 2, CSI Miami - Season 6 - Part 1 and CSI Miami - Season 6 - Part 2 alongside David Caruso, Rory Cochrane, Eva LaRue Callahan, Kim Delaney, Adam Rodriguez, Jonathan Togo, Rex Linn and Emily Procter.
Khandi starred in the movie CB4 as Sissy with Chris Rock and Charlie Murphy and also in Shameful Secrets as Rosalie opposite Joanna Kerns.
She has also had roles in Dark Blue as Janelle Holland with Kurt Russell, Sugar Hill as Ella Skuggs opposite Wesley Snipes and DeVaughn Nixon and in Menace II Society as Karen Lawson alongside Tyrin Turner, Larenz Tate, Jada Pinkett Smith and Samuel L. Jackson.
Other roles include There's Something About Mary as Joanie along with Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, Matt Dillon, Chris Elliott and Lee Evans and in Rain as Latitia Arnold opposite Faye Dunaway and Robert Loggia.
Khandi has also appeared in Poetic Justice as Simone with Janet Jackson, Tupac Shakur, Regina King and Joe Torry and in House Party 3 as Janelle opposite Christopher Reid, Christopher Martin and Angela Means.
Another role was in Emmett's Mark as Det. Middlestat with Tim Roth, Scott Wolf and Gabriel Byrne and in What's Love Got to Do with It as Darlene opposite Angela Bassett, Rae'Ven Larrymore Kelly, Virginia Capers and Laurence Fishburne.
Khandi has been in Thick as Thieves as Janet Hussein alongside Alec Baldwin and Rebecca De Mornay, Terminal as Dr. Deborah Levy with Doug Savant, Nia Peeples and Michael Ironside, No Easy Way as Diana Campbell opposite Alan Boyce and Brandon Hammond and in Greedy as Laura along with Kirk Douglas, Ed Begley Jr. and Michael J. Fox.
She has also appeared in To My Daughter with Love as Harriet with Linda Gray and Rick Schroder, X-Chromosome as Yolanda opposite Susan Glover and in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Season 2 reprising her role as Dr. Alexx Woods in the crossover episode called Cross-Jurisdictions with David Caruso, William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Emily Procter, Gary Dourdan, Adam Rodriguez, Rory Cochrane, George Eads, Jorja Fox and Paul Guilfoyle.
