Robert Knepper

Robert Lyle Knepper is an American actor best known for his role as Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell in the Fox drama Prison Break.

He was born in Fremont, Ohio on the 9th of July 1959. Knepper developed an interest in acting at an ealy age as his mother worked in the props department for the community theater.

He attended Northwestern University where he studied drama while taking roles in plays in Chicago. Knepper then moved to New York to continue his work in theater and never intended to cross over into film and television.

Following his screen debut in the 1986 film Thats Life! Knepper appeared in Everyone Says I Love You, D.O.A., Renegades, Young Guns 2 and Species 3 as well as making several television guest appearances on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, New York Undercover, Tour of Duty, Star Trek: Voyager, ER, L.A. Law, Profiler, South Beach, CSI: Miami and The West Wing.

Knepper then took the role of Tommy Dolan in Carnivàle and his biggest role to date as T-Bag in Prison Break in which he was a main character thoughout the 4 seasons. It is rumoured that before landing this role, Knepper had considered quitting acting.

Following his success in Prison Break which brought him nominations for a Satelite award in 2006 and a Teen Choice award in 2007, Knepper took roles in Hitman, the movie based on the hugely popular videogame as well as Transporter 3 and The Day the Earth Stood Still.

In June 2009 NBC announced that Knepper would be joining the cast of Heroes for its fourth season as the villain Samuel. A month later he was upped from a recurring character to a series regular.
