Mario Brega

An actor with monumental presence, he became a favourite for roles playing thugs in spaghetti westerns. He is perhaps best known for his performances in the Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood ‘Dollars’ trilogy.

He had appeared in a few spaghetti westerns when Leone chose his ‘friend from Rome’ for the role of Chico in ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ (1964). Here we see him in typical style as a member of the ‘Rojos’ gang, clad in scruffy black, covered in bandoliers and with a mean attitude. In ‘For a Few Dollars More’ he becomes Niño and in the ‘The Good, The Bad And The Ugly' Corporal Wallace. Other spaghetti titles he appeared in are ‘Death Rides a Horse' and ‘Finders Killers’.

He also had minor roles in Federico Fellini films and Carlo Verdone films.
