Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds
Born 23 October 1976 in Vancouver (Canada), Ryan Rodney Reynolds starred in a few Tv shows and direct to TV movies in the early 90s. A few small appearances in shows such as The X-Files (in the season 3 epsiode Syzergy), and Sabrina The Teenage Witch, playing the part of Seth, helped raise his profile until he landed the role as Berg in Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place (later shortened to 2 Guys and a Girl). The show ran for 4 seasons, and helped raise his profile, showcasing his comic acting style.

His big screen breakthrough was in the National Lampoon's Van Wilder film, a film released in an attempt to cash in on the popularity of the teen movie started by American Pie. Reynolds brought the same style of role as he did with the character of Berg to van Wilder, and the film became a moderate success (going on to spawn a Reynolds-less sequel a few years later).

His casting as Hannibal King in the third Blade film showcased the action-hero aspect of his ability, and also had him working with David Goyer (the director). This pairing has led to various attmpted collaberations since, including speculation of Reynolds and Goyer working together on comic book franchises such as The Flash and Deadpool (both projects passed to other developers). The mention of Reynolds' wish to play Deadpool in particular even led to the character in the comic book referring to himself as a cross between Ryan Reynolds and a pizza.

Reynolds has, since Blade Trinity, gone on to develop his screen persona more and more with each project, from his disturbing portrayal as a man losing his mind to supernatural forces in The Amityville Horror, to romantic comedy in Just Friends, and more recently in fantasy-drama in The Nines.

Recent news has revealed that he is to play the role of the aforementioned Deadpool character in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine - starring alongside Hugh Jackman.

He also played the lead role alongside Ray Liotta in he 2006 film Smokin' Aces! He recently took the lead in The Proposal alongside Sandra Bullock.
