Ioan Gruffudd
Ioan Gruffudd was born on the 6th October 1973 in Llwydcoed in Wales.
He started acting age 13 years old in a Welsh television film called Austin as Dafydd and then later moved on to the Welsh soap opera Pobol y Cwm (People of the Valley) from 1987 to 1994 as Gareth Wyn Harries.
Ioan has starred in Theatre productions that include Hedda Gabler as George (Jörgen) Tesman, Trouble Sleeping at The National Theatre Studio in London, The Decameron by Nick Ward, based on the c. 13501353 novellas by Giovanni Boccaccio at The Gate Theatre, Notting Hill in London and a cameo appearance in The Play Wot I Wrote at The Wyndham's Theatre in London.
Other roles include playing John Gray in the film called Wilde alongside Stephen Fry and Vanessa Redgrave and as Fifth Officer Harold Lowe in Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and Billy Zane.
Another role of Ioan's was as Horatio Hornblower in Hornblower - Series 1 Box Set, Hornblower - Duty and Hornblower - Loyalty alongside Robert Lindsay, Anthony Sher and Paul McGann.
Ioan also starred as Horatio Hornblower in Hornblower - The Even Chance Midshipman, Hornblower - The Examination For Lieutenant, Hornblower - The Duchess and the Devil, Hornblower - The Frogs and the Lobsters, Hornblower - Mutiny and Hornblower - Retribution.
Another role was in Warriors as Lt. John Feeley opposite Matthew MacFadyen, Damian Lewis and Cal Macaninch, Century City as Lukas Gold alongside Hector Elizondo, Eric Schaeffer and Kristin Lehman and in Man And Boy as Harry Silver opposite Elizabeth Mitchell and Natasha Little.
He has also appeared in Great Expectations as Pip with Justine Waddell and Charlotte Rampling and has also been in The Forsyte Saga - The Complete Forsyte Saga as Phillip Bosinney alongside Rupert Graves, Damian Lewis and Gina McKee.
Another role was in Poldark as Jeremy Poldark and Ioan has had a voice part in The Miracle Maker with Ralph Fiennes, Julie Christie, Richard E Grant, Ian Holm and Michael Bryant.
Ioan has had roles in Solomon And Gaenor as Solomon Levinsky alongside Nia Roberts, 102 Dalmatians as Kevin Shepherd with Glenn Close, Gerard Depardieu and Tim McInnerny, Another Life as Freddy Bywaters opposite Imelda Staunton, Natasha Little and Nick Moran, Very Annie Mary as Hob with Rachel Griffiths and Jonathan Pryce and in Happy Now as Sgt. Max Bracchi.
He has also appeared in Black Hawk Down as Lt. John Beales opposite Ewan McGregor, Kim Coates and Gabriel Casseus, Shooters as Freddy Guns alongside Adrian Dunbar, Emma Fielding and Gerard Butler, The Gathering as Dan Blakeley with Christina Ricci and in This Girl's Life as Daniel with Juliette Marquis, James Woods and Kip Pardue.
Other roles include King Arthur as Lancelot alongside Clive Owen and Keira Knightley, Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four - The Rise of the Silver Surfer as Reed Richards and Mister Fantastic with Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon and Kerry Washington and also in The TV Set as Richard McAllister alongside David Duchovny and Sigourney Weaver.
Ioan has been in Amazing Grace as William Wilberforce opposite Albert Finney, Ciaran Hinds and Rufus Sewell, Fireflies in the Garden as Addison alongside Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds and Willem Dafoe and has voiced the part of Agent Crush in the film of the same name - Agent Crush with Neve Campbell, Roger Moore and Brian Blessed.
He also starred in the music video of Westlife's version of "Uptown Girl" alongside Claudia Schiffer. The single and video were released for Comic Relief.
Ioan provided the voice of Mister Miracle in DC's Justice League Unlimited and starred in The Secret of Moonacre as Sir Benjamin with Dakota Blue Richards, Tim Curry and Juliet Stevenson.
Other roles include starring in W. as Tony Blair opposite Josh Brolin, James Cromwell and Ellen Burstyn and in Clasuron Drama that centre around four classic films in Welsh - that are Branwen, Solomon a Gaenor, Hedd Wyn and Gadael Lenin which also star Nia Roberts and Sue Jones-Davies.
Ioan has also featured in Essential Love Poems To Fall In Love With - With Daisy Goodwin alongside Amanda Holden, Stephen Tompkinson, Andrew Lincoln and Jo Whiley and in The Kid as Colin Smith with Rupert Friend and Natascha McElhone.
