Mary Louise Parker's acting career didn't fully get into its gears until she appea RED in the award-winning US political drama "The West Wing". After which, she started 'Weeds'; a comedy series about a suburban mother/marijuana dealer. The show has been going on for years now and is recognised as clever, funny and re-watchable. Mary is said to play a perfect act of Nancy Botwin.

'Prelude to a Kiss', which stood as a prelude to her future acting career; 'How I learned to Drive, which she won an acting award for; 'Mr Wonderful', 'Naked in New York'; 'The Portrait Of A Lady'; in which she played next to the lead role. This showed that she had the ability to play difficult parts.
Mary Louise plays an excellent role in ' RED'. A movie about a former C.I.A. agent who is attacked by an unknown client. He gets his old team together in the hunt and also takes along his secret love: Sarah Ross (Mary Louise Parker), who is also being hunted.
Mary still continues to do the same old fine work she always does and is still on-going through her career. Through more and more films she works to become an outstanding actress.
