Eduardo Noriega

Eduardo Noriega was born in 1973 in Santander, Spain.

He made his debut in 1996 in Alejandro Amenábar’s debut film, Tesis, and also starred in the director’s next film, Open Your Eyes. Both roles were written especially for him by Amenábar and co-writer Mateo Gil who he met while they were all students making short films.

To date his biggest successes have been thrillers –Tesis, Open Your Eyes, Nobody Knows Anybody (Mateo Gil’s directorial debut), Burnt Money (dir. Marcelo Pineyro), The Devil’s Backbone (dir. Guillermo del Toro), and El Lobo (dir. Miguel Courtois). He also had a role in Spain’s first ‘super-production’, Alatriste (dir. Agustin Diaz Yanes), which starred Viggo Mortenson in the title role and a host of other leading Spanish actors.

He has started venturing into other film industries and to date has appeared in two French films –Novo (dir. Jean Pierre Limosin) and Mon ange (dir. Serge Frydman)– and two US productions –Vantage Point (dir. Pete Travis) and Transsiberian (dir. Brad Anderson).
