Konstantin Khabensky

Konstantin (Kostya) Khabensky was born 11 January 1972 in Leningrad (Now St Petersburg,Russia)
He is best known for starring in Nightwatch(2004)and Daywatch (2006) films by Director Timur Bekmambetov and based on the books by Sergei Lukyanenko.
Khabensky adops the role of the famous russian admiral Aleksandr Kolchak in the recent film Admiral (2008)

His Filmography Includes other films such as Wanted (2008), Irony Of Fate 2 (2008),Domovoy(2008), Bednye Rodstvenniki (2006), The State Counsellor(2005) and Boginya: kak ya polyubila (2004).

Young khabensky studied Electronics at Leningrad Technical School Of Aviation Electronics & Automatics. He dropped out in the third year deciding that a degree electronics was not for him.

He then became a freelance struggling musican, playing guitar on Nevsky Prospekt street in Leningrad He was also a stage technician at the theater studio " Subbota."
From 1990 he studied acting for five years in the St. Petersburg institute of Theater, taught by Veniamin Filshtinsky and then graduated in 1995.

As an actor he gained a five month stint at the Raikin Theater of Satire in Moscow, but could not obtain any major work there, so he returned to St.Petersburg.

Apart from working in film, Khabensky has worked in St.Petersburg theater of Lensovet playing a lead role in "Waiting for Godot. He has performed at the world famous Moscow Arts Theater,there appointing the lead role in "White guard" and appeared as "Claudius" in the Russian adaptation of Shakespear's " Hamlet."
Other plays include; The Duck Hunt (2002) and Threepennies Opera.

Konstantin Khabensky was married too radio - journalist Anastasiya Khabenskaya from January 12, 2000 untill her untimley death in december 2008 from a brain tumour. He has one son by her called Ivan Konstantinovich, Born 25th september 2007. He has homes in St.Petersburg and Moscow.
