Robert Joy
Robert Joy was born on the 17th August 1951 in Montreal in Quebec in Canada. He attended Oxford University and Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Robert appeared in the thriller called Fallen as Charles Olom alongside Denzel Washington, Donald Sutherland, James Gandolfini (from The Sopranos), and John Goodman.
He also appeared in an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, entitled "Ally's F" as Ally's math teacher, Mr. Putnam, and also in an episode of the E Ring as Mark Boskovich alongside Benjamin Bratt, Aunjanue Ellis, and Dennis Hopper.
Another role was in The Hills Have Eyes (listed as Hills Have Eyes , The - BLU-RAY Version) where he portrays a mutant named Lizard with Michael Bailey Smith, Ted Levine and Kathleen Quinlan.
Robert also starred as Ted Bedworth in It's a Boy Girl Thing alongside Kevin Zegers, Sherry Miller and Samaire Armstrong.
He also played the character of Colonel Stevens in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem with Steven Pasquale.
Robert has also had roles in the films Amityville 3D as Elliot West with Tess Harper and Tony Roberts, Land of the Dead (listed as Land of the Dead - HD DVD Version and Land of the Dead - BLU-RAY Version) as Charlie alongside Simon Baker and Dennis Hopper and Whole New Thing as Rog opposite Aaron Webber and Rebecca Jenkins.
Other film roles include starring in The Shipping News as an EMS Officer with Kevin Spacey, Alyssa Gainer, Cate Blanchett and Julianne Moore, Switching Parents as Ralph Kingsley alongside Kathleen York, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bill Smitrovich and in Sword Of Gideon as Hans with Steven Bauer and Michael York.
Perhaps though his most recognisable role is that of Dr. Sid Hammerback, the New York City Medical Examiner described as an "off-the-charts genius" who only recently traded in a career as a chef to become medical examiner. He is clearly identifiable for the breakaway reading glasses he uses in the morgue.
Robert's character of Sid on CSI - New York, has a habit of overtalking and oversharing. He stars in CSI - New York - Season 2 - Part 2, CSI - New York - Season 3 - Part 1, CSI - New York - Season 3 - Part 2, CSI - New York - Season 4 - Part 1, CSI - New York - Season 4 - Part 2, CSI - New York - Season 5 - Part 1 and CSI - New York - Season 5 - Part 2. Robert stars in CSI - New York opposite Gary Sinise, Melina Kanakaredes, Carmine Giovinazzo and Anna Belknap.
Robert has also starred in The Adventure of Faustus Bidgood as Eddie Peddle opposite Andy Jones and Greg Malone and in Harriet The Spy as Mr. Welsch along with Eartha Kitt, Michelle Trachtenberg and Rosie O'Donnell.
He also appeared in Just Ask My Children as Sam Bennis with Virginia Madsen, Jeffrey Nordling and Graham Beckel.
Another role was in Desperately Seeking Susan as Jim alongside Rosanna Arquette, Madonna and Aidan Quinn and in Goosebumps - Escape from Horrorland (the episodes based on R. L. Stines best selling book series) as Madison Storm and Stump with Glynis Barber and Jeff Goldblum.
