Ricardo Darin was born the 16th of January of 1957 in Argentina in a family with artistic history. Since he was little he was in the theatre with his parents. In the 80's, he was part of a group of young actors who were considered only for their beauty. In the 90's, he got a name in the Argentinian television with the success of the TV comedy serie "My son in law". The economical crisis in Argentina was the background of the movie "Nine Queens" that definitely showed he was a real actor. In 2002, "The Son Of The Bride" was another success even internationally when nominated as best foreign language film in the Oscars. In 2006, he was granted with the Spanish nationality because of his exceptional work in the cinematography in Spanish language. In 2007, he personified the father of a misterious girl in "XXY". In 2009, "The Secret in Their Eyes" won the Oscar for best foreign language film. This is a singular story were just five characters manage to get the perfect combination of drama, mistery and comedy. In 2010, his last work "Carancho" was released. He has married twice. He has a daughter named Clara and a son called Ricardo. They all live in Argentina and according to the lastest news were victims of house burglary not long ago.
