Roger Corman

Roger Corman
Probably one of the most important American producers of the 50s-70s Roger Corman made an unprecedented amount of genre films, not immediately distinguishable from other B-picture drive-in fare. He proved himself in the horror genre and launched the 'hippy picture'. His most important contribution to film was his nurturing of talent. He started (and helped) the careers of Jack Nicholson, Monte Hellman, Martin Scorsese, Francis Coppola and Jonathan Demme, all of whom would become luminaries of 70s New Hollywood.

He was renowned for record breaking shooting schedules (Little Shop of Horrors) and miniscule budgets.
