Mary Harron

Mary Harron was born on January 12th 1953 in Ontario, Canada. She was brought up into a world of film and theatre through the actor, author, director, comedian and writer that was her father, Donald Harron. Harron's first step-mother Virginia Leath was discovered by Stanley Kubrich and acted in one of his first films.

When she was thirteen Harron moved to England where she later attended Oxford University. She then traveled to new york and became part of the 1970s New York Punk scene.

She now lives in New York with her husband, filmmaker John C. Walsh, and their two children.
