Hironobu SakaguchiHironobu Sakaguchi (1962) is the father of the Final Fantasy franchise. While no longer working at Squaresoft (now Square Enix), he has carried on to work a video games development company Mistwalker, which being backed by Microsoft. With this company, he has helped released traditional Japanese Role-Playing games for the Xbox 360 and hybrid Role-Playing titles for the Nintendo DS. He is still making video games even to this day. Hironobu Sakaguchi was the third person inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame.In 2001, he had directed his first film, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. However, many fans of the franchise felt that the movie wasn't true to the games. It became the second largest animated box office bomb ever in cinema history. Despite this fact, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is still an original and brilliant title, and its CG Graphics are still impressive even today. Unfortunately this was Sakaguchi-san's first and last film, and became the reason for him resign from his post as an executive vice-president at Squaresoft. Hironobu Sakaguchi - filmography
