Jean-Claude Brisseau

Jean-Claude Brisseau was born in Paris on July 17, 1944 into a working class, He worked as a teacher and also became an amateur filmmaker.

In 1975, one of his films was noticed by Eric Rohmer in an amateur film festival and they became and remain good friends.

His film Céline was nominated for the Golden Bear Award at the 42nd Berlin International Film Festival.

At the Cannes Film Festival, he was awarded the France Culture Award in 2003 for 'Secret Things'

In 1988 he was awarded the Special Award for the Youth.
