Aaron Sorkin
Sorkins first play was Removing All Doubt, which was followed by the more successful Hidden in This Picture. However, it was his script for A Few Good Men which got him noticed by Hollywood, and the film rights were sold before the play had even opened on Broadway. Sorkin was hired to re-write A Few Good Men as a film script, and his career as a writer took off. The films Malice and The American President followed, then TV work with Sports Night, The West Wing and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Sorkin is also credited as a writer on other films, such as Enemy of the State, The Rock and Schindlers List. Sorkins latest film was Charlie Wilsons War, and he is reportedly working on scripts for three more upcoming films; The Trial of the Chicago 7, The Social Network and The Challenge. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was considered fairly autobiographical, with one of the main protagonists battling with cocaine addiction (Sorkin attended a drug diversion program), and a plot line involving an on-off relationship between a writer and an actress (and The 700 Club), which mirrored the real-life relationship of Sorkin and Kristin Chenoweth.
