Prachya PinkaewPrachya Pinkaew is a Thai film director, screenwriter and film producer. He is also a president of the Thai Film Directors Association. Prachya studied architecture but began his career working as an art director and later as creative director for an advertising firm. He directed several music videos in which many of them have won Best Music Video at Thailand's Golden Television Awards.In 2003 he directed Ong-Bak:Muay Thai Warrior, starring Tony Jaa: a young man called 'Ting' from a small village northeastern Thailand. Ting set out to recover an ancient Buddha image, named Ong-Bak which has been stolen from his village using his fantastic traditional Muay Thai skills in tracking down the thieves. The film was the highest-grossing Thai film of the year and it went on to become a worldwide famous. His films include Ong Bak 2, Tom-Yum-Goong, The Love of Siam, Power Kids and Chocolate(Yanin "Jija" Vismistananda), the film about a young autistic girl who has been learning martial arts by watching martial art films, memorising and copying the moves and techniques. One day she set out to collect the debts but it turns violent. Another great film to watch if you are a muay Thai fan or anyone who loves martial-arts and action adventure film.
