Alejandro Amenabar
More than a film director Alejandro Amenábar seems a collector prizes. His fourth film, Mar Adentro, was the latest demonstration of this creative talent that amazed both friends and strangers with hits like Thesis, Open Eyes, or The Others.

Son of Chilean and Spanish, Alejandro Amenábar came to Madrid with just one Anita, fleeing the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile. In the capital of Spain studied Picture, and at age 19, began his career as a director with the short head, who won the first prize of the Association of Independent Filmmakers Amateurs (AICA).

Then Rodari Hymenoptera, a medium that was so impressed with Jose Luis Cuerda decided to help in the production of its first long, Thesis. The film was a box office success and a springboard for him.

Hand in hand with the same producer, in 1997 Amenábar Rodari Open Your Eyes, another thriller very well received both by critics and by the public. And they liked even outside Spain because Tom Cruise was decided to roll the American remake of the film, Vanilla Sky.

Amenábar was released, his name sounded as among the largest, wrote, rolled and put music to his movies (his other great passion). So, in 2000 allied itself with Nicole Kidman to film The Others (The Others), a mystery that won eight Goya awards, including Best Film and Best Director.

But despite the success achieved in this format, Amenábar decides to change his stick. Made public his homosexuality and wheel Sea Inside, a film much more intimate with Javier Bardem in the role of tetrapléjico Galician Ramon Sampedro, a man who was prostrate in bed for 30 years and who fought to the end to have a dignified death. Another overwhelming success that gets 14 Goyas and an Oscar for Best Foreign Film.

Amenábar This is undoubtedly the most filmmaker's future outlook Cinéfilo Spanish.
