Soldier Jack Starks (Adrien Brody) very nearly dies during the Gulf War, and is discharged back to his native Vermont suffering from bouts of amnesia. When he is accused of murder and lands in an asylum, Starks is subjected to a shocking and highly unorthodox treatment involving restraint, drugs and isolated confinement.
