The story revolves around Jeetu (Shahid Kapur) who hails from a small town. Jeetu is an unlucky but good-hearted young man. Creditors, whom he owes a lot of money to, constantly harass him. He just can’t seem to pay of his debts. The debtors also target his father Jayved Prasad, and fiancée Pooja. His love interest Pooja (role played by Kareena), a mute by birth. The situation is so bad that Pooja’s father suggests that Jeetu should commit suicide to solve his family’s problem. Jeetu believes that he is not good enough for Pooja and wants her to find someone else. She truly loves him and refuses to do so. Shahid is trapped in a false identity and lands from one scrape into another as he tries to hide his secret in this romantic family comedy. Eventually, Jeetu decided to fake his death. The idea is that his family can claim his life insurance.
