In CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS, Judah Rosenthal is a successful ophthalmologist who is having an affair with Dolores. Dolores threatens to reveal their relationship unless Judah commits to her and leaves his wife. He admits his sin to Ben, a friend, a patient, and a learned rabbi who is losing his eyesight but not his faith. He then realises that he needs help with his career so turns to David, an ageing artist, who also ends up helping him with his romantic life.
