Battleground

Bit of a forgetten gem this one, HBOs fantastic band of brothers first taught me about the battle of the bulge, and I've been fascinated ever since, this is one of the better films on this part of the war.

Tora! Tora! Tora!

Forget Pearl Harbour and it's buckets of CGI, this one is the real deal, and tells you the story of the attack in glorious historic detail. Popular in Japan and the USA alike, it's not so much impartial as it is respectful to both sides.

A Bridge Too Far

Another from back when war movies were almost documentaries, I love these! This somewhat depressing picture has one of the greatest casts ever assembled and some unforgettable scenes. James Caan and Elliott Ghould are among my favourites.
