Possibly the greatest of all anime films, this flick has it all. Generally regarded as one of the most important Manga films produced, Akira would be a good starting point for you to enter the world of anime.

Ghost In The Shell

The first of the two GITS films, brings you spectacular animations and a very intriguing storyline. But beware, the story can be very hard to follow at times, involving philosophy, and politics, sometimes very deeply. This film may not be entirely suited to the anime newbie, but it's good looking enough to keep anyones attention.

The Animatrix

Now here's a great DVD to enthrawl anyone paddling their feet in anime. It's basically several short stories connected to The Matrix (Keanu Reeves), providing you with more backround information as to what exactly the Matrix is, and how it came about. It has some incredible CGI, and equally as impressive animation throughout it's several stories, and will DEFINATELY whet your appetite for more!

Princess Mononoke

Often seen on the shelves in your local HMV/Zavvy, this is a very accessable and widely available film. A wonderful, and gripping story, along with great animation and glorious surronds make this film very enjoyable. Imagine, in basic terms, a cartoon for adults. Definately one to watch.

This film is truly amazing, but unfortunately only about 40 minutes long :( Fast, violent, gory, and loud this film is a feast for all your senses. You will be left begging for more, I can assure you.
