The Beiderbecke Collection Complete

As far as I am concerned ITV has produced little of any note over the years. The exceptions being Spitting Image, The New Statesman and Rising Damp. This little gem is one of those exceptions, a brilliant cast brilliantly acted, Trevor, Jill, Big Al and Little Norm take a bow! Gently takes you back to a time when everything didn't have to contain gallons of blood and guts and graphic sex, not that I'm against blood and guts and graphic sex, and who knows you may even become a jazz buff, the theme tune certainly sticks in your mind.

A Fistful Of Dollars

Not a Box Set on it's own, but I purchased this from HMV in a Special Edition Spaghetti Western Collection containing SE's of Fistful, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The only movie missing was Once Upon A Time In The West, probably the best western movie ever made, probably!

New Statesman, The - The Complete First Series

The New Statesman Complete. Alan B'stard? Is he your MP? From the Thatcher era Greed is Good school of Parliamentarianism. Just how does Rik Mayall do that thing with his fingers?

Black Books - The Complete Series 1

The Complete Black Books Took me a while to get into this, and similar to hard drugs I am hooked, in a way sad they didn't do more but then glad they stopped before they got stale.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Lost count of how many times I have watched this, probably know the script better than the actors! Still watch the repeats on BBC 4 as well. Excellent TV, excellent cast and well acted, will have you gripped! 'There were 3 of them and Allaline?'

Edge Of Darkness - The Complete Series

Worth watching just for the scenes with Joe Don Baker taking the two slabs of plutonium out of his briefcase and attempting a nuclear reaction, and Bob Peck going through his dead daughters belongings and sniffing her vibrator. Good stuff!

Das Boot - The Mini Series

What submarine warfare was all about, dirty, sweaty, smelly, nasty and downright terryfying! Forget R Mitchum, C Gable et al in full uniform and clean in a submarine! Watch it with subtitles as it definitely loses something in being dubbed!
