Scenes From A Marriage

If we are talking about Bergman and you look at a lot of the Mike Nichols films - again, it's not girl meets boy, lives happily ever after. It's what happens AFTER happily ever after. I want to be challenged by the films, I want them to make me think, and I want to be able to discuss them afterwards. And I think that's what we are trying to do with The Edge Of Love. I'm not trying to say it's just like Bergman's films, but actually it is wonderful to watch films that make you look at your own relationships, and that you can have a good talk about something afterwards; I think that's very exciting.
