The Bear

The Bear is a memorable and beautifully filmed tale of an adult male bear and an orphaned bear cub who are brought together by fate. Meanwhile hunters are tracking the male grizzly (Played by Bart the Bear - a Kodiak Grizzly who starred in many films). The story has a morale that states it is greater to let something live than to kill it. With little dialogue, this movie nevertheless captivates its audience from the start. The scenery is breathtaking, and the bear cub has the "awww" factor in abundance. A must-see for children and adults alike.

Be Cool

Immensely funny movie set in the cut-throat music industry, starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman, Cedric The Entertainer amongst a further strong cast.

Braveheart

One of Mel Gibson's best, as Director and Actor. The fight scenes are realistic, the scenery stunning. Although historically it is not accurate, it is still a very enjoyable film that no doubt brings out the patriotic side of any self respecting Scot. Great performance also from Brendan Gleeson.

Chocolat

A beautiful movie that has a charming storyline, some humour, and excellent performances from Juliette Binoche, Dame Judi Dench, Alfred Molina and Johnny Depp. It follows the tale of a mother who is a Chocolateer and her daughter, and the mother's inability to settle anywhere for long. A really wonderful film for all the family.

The Crow

Brandon Lee's fateful last movie. Even so the scene is stolen by Top Dollar played by Michael Wincott, who is superbly compelling. It is a dark supernatural movie that pulls no punches and keeps you enthralled throughout.

Dante's Peak

I am a big disaster movie fan, and this is my favourite. Yes it's predictable, but the special effects are good and the story and stunning scenery only adds to the overall enjoyment.

Dark Prince - The Legend Of Dracula

This film is based on the life of Prince Vlad Dracula, rather than Bram Stoker's vampire creation. It follows the life of the Prince in Transylvania, his captivity in Hungary, and his marriage. A dark but compelling movie. Rudolf Martin is ideal in the part of Prince Vlad. Very enjoyable.

The Day After Tomorrow

Another great 'disaster' movie. This one has some brilliant special effects, and a good storyline that pulls you along with it. Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhall give very good performances. Not sure about the scene with the wolves, but otherwise it's very enjoyable.

Eight Below

A family film centred on a pack of snow-dogs and their owner. The dogs completely steal the show, and the scenery is magnificent. It's a movie that keeps you enthralled, and makes you feel good too.
