Firefly - The Complete Series

Great characters, thrilling action, witty script, an absorbing story, and a believable yet fantastical universe, Firefly is simply awesome - surely the funniest and most exciting sci-fi series that has ever been.

Fried gold! This is lovable, surreal genius.

Battlestar Galactica - Season 2

I was sceptical about this at first but BSG is well worth investing in. It's sexy, gritty and visually spectacular but it's also got real heart within it's ensemble of characters (both human and cylon). Surprisingly thought provoking while still being kick-ass entertainment.

Deadwood - Season 1

I've never heard such creative and poetic swearing! Deadwood is superb - completely believable and absorbing, it deserves all of the critical praise that was heaped upon it. And it stars Lovejoy - who spends alot of his onscreen time calling people 'Cunt'.

Office, The - Series 1

This really is a classic show. Sometimes painful to watch but always hilarious, The Office works so well because even at their worst the characters are three dimensional and sympathetic.

Flight Of The Conchords

Some of the songs in this show are nothing short of genius. Deadpan and warm-hearted, FotC is simply wonderful.

24 - Season 1

It's arguable that 24 has eaten itself in recent seasons but season 1 remains brilliant. Tense, clever and action-packed, 24 captivates from start to finish.

Heroes - Series 1 - Part 2

I've yet to see the second season (apparently a real let down) but season 1 was a real thriller. Silar is a chilling villain and the story and characters fall together for a great climax.

Futurama - Season 3

Wonderfully whacky! Season 3 is the high water mark for me.

American Dad - Season 1 - Volume 2

Overshadowed by Family Guy, I actually prefer American Dad. Close to the bone at times, but always very very funny.
