I think it's the fact that the characters have to live in the wild that appeals to me so much (personally I'd love to go back to the jungle), plus the exploration of science vs. spirituality and the various ways that people give meaning to their lives.

One of the funniest series I have EVER seen. The style of filming is pretty unique, the characters wonderful and the stream of consciousness narrative hilarious. A catalogue of comments that we all make but generally keep to ourselves for fear of social rejection.

Education and entertainment in one. A slightly esoteric quiz show (probably not enjoyed by anyone other than geeks) presented by the British institution that is Stephen Fry. He's like a big genius teddy bear and I think he's fabulous. A lot of people say that they watch this to try and look clever (myself included) but I particularly enjoy the fact that Alan Davies doesn't know what everyone's talking about either...

I hated this when I first saw it, but if you watch a few episodes you really start to love the characters. It's not as trashy as it first appears, in fact if you can see past all the drug abuse, it's very heartwarming.
