A suprisingly reasonable Scandanavian shocker. The remoteness is provided by isolated ski slopes. The victims are young skiers who take refuge in the wrong corner of a mountain.

The Devil's Backbone

A spooky horror set in a remote orphange. This has some some lovley acting and direction that create some great scares.

Switchblade Romance

A brutal and stylish French horror. Although straight from the mad axeman/teen victim genre it's none-the-less a good visceral shocker.

Dumplings

Only recommended for the hard core, seen everything viewer. It great acting and direction but gets its horror from some difficult places. An uneasy slow burner.

Rec

A suprising gem from Spain which takes much of it's inspiration from Blair Witch. The scares are well times and the tension builds up nicely. Be aware - it's subtitled.

Dead Birds

This time it's bankrobbing cowboys who stumble across the haunted house. But this is a nice reasonable b-movie with some great ideas and nice scares.
