I tricked my girlfriend into watching this, I told her it was a rom-com. In the end she was glad I did. The tense atmosphere, charismatic heroine and near faultless croc-fx make this one of best creature features out there. Highly recommended.

A classic from the '80s. This is one of the better killer-animal flicks released in the wake of Jaws. Watching a giant alligator crash a wedding will always be entertaining.

This dino-flick from Disney doesn't seem to know what age-group it's aimed at. It is unwittingly racist and quite violent at times, which is a shame because this otherwise engaging film boasts great animatronic effects. Not totally suitable for children: PG.

A more child-friendly effort from Walt this time around. The enchanting ape moves fluidly and looks impressive, but that's enough about Charlize Theron. This is wholesome family entertainment of the highest order.

Having read the description of this film, i sat down to watch it worrying that the focus would be more on the relationship between Douglas and Kilmer's characters rather than killer lions. I needn't have worried.
