Army Of Shadows

I am a big fan of Melvilles work, especially Le Samourai and Le Cercle Rouge. This was made in the middle of these two, so is similar in style and tone. Story is about the french resistance during the war. I went to see this in the cinema a few months ago and enjoyed it just as much a second time. One of the best movies i've seen, a masterpiece that is unmatched by most of whats produced in modern cinema.

The Wild Bunch

The best western made and a damn good movie, in fact like Melville, Pechinpaw was a genuis and you should hire all his movies, even the bad ones that where mostly screwed up by the studios, cause the still have more creativity in them than most moden hollywood movies.

Point Blank

Lee Marvin kicks ass from begining to end, but thats not all, a magnificantly directed movie which shines with touches of European cinema, one of the best movies of the 60's as far as I'm concerned that Hollywood produced

From the master Melville, not available in the UK so you had better learn some french because you need to see this

Freestyle - The Art Of Rhyme

If you like hip hop this is one of the best views into the culture, up there with Style Wars
