Cowboy Bebop - Vol. 1

This is where it all starts and if you start with this you can't fail. You might find everything else disappointing by comparison but I believe in setting the bar high. Includes the Odessa Steps of anime editing in episode 5. Legendary

Cowboy Bebop - Vol. 2

Continuing in fine style and only marginally less fabulous than episodes 1-5. If you don't feel a yearning hunger to know what happens to these characters by now you must be dead.

Cowboy Bebop - Vol. 3

If you've come this far you know you're onto a winner. Don't look to me to discourage you.

Cowboy Bebop - Vol. 4

Are you watching carefully? You should. In this series there Is No Filler. These episodes are full of details you're going to wish you remembered later on...

Cowboy Bebop - Vol. 5

Critics are divided but I say that episode 20 is the best in the series and therefore, to my mind, the best anime episode ever made. However; context is everything, so don't even consider skipping forward to this one: watch eps 1-19 first, a bit of patience never hurt anyone. Vols 2-4 may have gone as low as 4 and a half stars. Back to 5 here.

Cowboy Bebop - Vol. 6

Masterful finish to The Best Anime Series Ever. Now go back to the beginning and watch it all again.

Cowboy Bebop - The Movie

"Are you looking for a bean shop, my friend?" Excellent as a stand-alone, really quite reasonable as a companion-piece to the series. Aficionadoes might regret a certain unsubtlety in character behaviour; most people agree that it's a good 20 minutes too long but it's still one of the best anime films you'll see.

The Castle Of Cagliostro

Good, fun stuff and the direct ancestor of Cowboy Bebop to this viewer's mind. Proto-Jet, Spike and Faye all present and correct but in a very different universe. Hi-jinks, humour and suprisingly good visuals, plus an early insight into the mind of Hayao Miyazaki all make this worth watching.

Bleach - Series 1 - Vol.1

FIGHTING! SHOUTING! Fabulous slice of entry-level shounen by way of bladed weaponry; if you can't enjoy this there's something wrong with you. Laugh-out-loud funny in places and remarkably filler-free. Also useful if you ever want to catch a smug 12-year-old off guard with your superior knowledge of the Shonen Jump ouevre. Life ain't all Naruto, you know.

Bleach - Series 1 Vol.2

BANKAI! Continuing in fine style, although I question the decision to cut the fighting and shouting with running and talking. No matter: the fights, when they come, are all well worth the very short wait and the expanded cast is wonderfully entertaining.
