Wonderful wonderful wonderful. Spring 2009 - I modelled myself on Joan Holloway: with a high-waisted body-con wool skirt and mid-heel scalloped courts; I even cut the fringe. This is how curvy girls like myself should dress! Hurrah hurrah Hurrah!

Ah the preppiness of Blair. And the slightly boho if incredibly well-cut ease of Serena (no Sienna Miller nastiness here.) Poor Blair was over-made-up in the pilot, and often great in season one, though she truly came into a confident and original preppiness in Season 2. Serena's bohemianess was at times a little tame and dull in season one, but dazzled in Season 2.

Award for best use of black. (Not many people know what to do with black). Also special mention goes to girl who used to play Katerina in Heartbreak High - great use of metal. Matrix 2 introduces us to Monica Bellucci in a cream vinyl dress - stunning! I want one just like it.

Need I say more. Haven't we all dreamt of swishing about in these dresses, and making regal gowns out of green velvet curtains in a crisis. The most wondeful parts are the balls and other gatherings of southern belles.
